DanceSingAct is a dynamic and fun program that provides students with an incredible insight into the theatre scene, giving them the skills they need to chase their stage dream and become a triple threat!

2016 performances

Mid year concert – Matilda medley (The National Theatre, June 2016)

DanceSingAct concert – Seussical Jr (Gasworks Theatre, November 2016)

Academy concert – Seussical medley (The National Theatre, December 2016)

The class

For three hours on a Saturday morning (one hour for the younger levels), students work with some great names in the Australian theatre scene as they explore singing, drama and repertoire (putting it all together).

DanceSingAct is separated into three age groups:

5-7 years (Saturdays 11.30am – 12.30pm)

8-10 years (Saturdays 9.30am – 12.30pm)

12+ years (Saturdays 9.30am – 12.30pm)

Students learn in a fun but structured environment, learning all about theatre craft and how to put on a show.

Performance opportunities

DanceSingAct students perform a short piece in the Academy mid-year and end of year concert and they also host their own separate musical at the end of the year, whether it be Hairspray Junior, Seussical, Alice in Wonderland or another exciting show.

Benefits of taking DanceSingAct

Theatre studies are a fantastic way to explore a number of disciplines (dancing, singing, acting) as well as providing social and personal development in leadership, public speaking, confidence and teamwork. These are skills that our students can take with them into their school, friendship group and family and beyond.
