Nathaniel Lamond
Director of the Intermediate and Senior Schools Nathaniel Lamond is an ex Australian Ballet School student who has had many years of performing and teaching experience. He is the manager of the Classical Ballet Programme for these levels. Nathaniel started dancing at the age of 10 through his love of Tap Dance. Although he only started taking his dancing seriously at the age of 14 under the teaching of Ann Robert’s in Townsville North Queensland. Whilst at school he attained accreditation up to Advanced level R.A.D. before being accepted into the Australian Ballet School in 1993. In 1995 he made the decision to broaden his horizons by not limiting himself strictly to classical ballet and began his Diploma in Dance (Majoring in Performing Arts) At Dance World 301. Since graduating in December 1996 Nathaniel Has performed in a wide variety of professional engagements such as Disney Tour’s to South East Asia, Princess Cruise Lines Production Shows, Music Video’s as well as many corporate functions with celebrities such as Marina Prior and Rhonda Burchmore. He is also a regular extra on Neighbours and other locally filmed TV shows and Commercials. Nathaniel has achieved the following qualifications: Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training & Certificate IV in Dance Teaching (Classical). Nathaniel teaches the Intermediate & Senior Ballet Classes at the academy as well as VCE Dance and Junior Boys Classes.

Julia Fox
Director of the Junior Preparatory and Junior Schools Julia Fox has been teaching for more than 30 years and manages the Classical Ballet programme for these levels. Julia Fox started dancing at 10 years old in Sydney. She has always been passionate about dancing, and received Honors in all her RAD examinations. Over 30 or so years Julia started several dance schools. Julia also gained a Dance Specialist Certificate in Dalcoze Eurhythmics (Music & Movement), and later a Licentiate in Dalcroze Eurhythmics & Advanced Teachers Certificate from the Royal Academy of Dance. She also studied the Cecchetti Classical Dance Method; and the Associate Diploma for teaching in Classical Ballet. As well she studied several Modules of the teacher’s course at the Australian Ballet School has her Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching (Classical) qualification. She is very fortunate to now have Nathaniel Lamond as a Co-Director. We are all very excited that we now have our own premises, which along with the excellent staff, will enable the Academy to move ahead into a new era, to accomplish a truly excellent dance education for all children.

Dee Senaratne
Dee Seneratne began teaching for ADM at the beginning of February 2006. Dee’s outstanding teaching skills and friendly personality has prompted Julia & Nat to appoint her as director for the Jazz Programme. Dee has had many professional engagements in the dance industry both in performance and teaching. Dee graduated from the National Theatre Ballet School with a Diploma in Arts (Classical Dance) and holds a Certificate IV in Performing Arts. Dee also has expertise in stage makeup and design.

Elenor Adams
Elenor Adams has been teaching magnificent Tap & Musical Theatre classes at The Academy for the past 2 years. Elenor is well known within the dance industry and will be applying her skills into directing ADM’s Tap department. Elenor is an experienced teacher as well as performer and has graduated from the University of Ballarats’ Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre). Elenor’s latest achievements include collaborating with Alister Smith to choreograph a promotional showing for Scooter Clothing.

Claudia Di Cosmo-Simon
Claudia Di Cosmo-Simon – Teaches Dance Conditioning and Open Ballet Classes at the Academy. She is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Post Graduate Bachelor in Dance Teaching. She has also achieved a Certificate in Personal Training.

Andrea Day
Andrea Day – Teaches Contemporary classes at the Academy. She is originally from Saskatchewan in Canada and is a graduate of The University of Arizona’s Bachelor of Fine Arts – Dance Degree in Tucson. She is an accomplished dancer and performer in Classical, Contemporary (Modern) and Jazz and has many performing credits to her name. We are very privileged to have Andrea as part of our team.

Jessika Watkins
Jessika Watkins is the acrobatics teacher at Academy of Dance & Movement. Jessika began her dance training at East Ivanhoe School of Dance until she was accepted into the Victorian College Of the Arts Secondary School in 2000. Jessika graduated at the top of her class in 2004 and performed many main roles in her final years at the college. Jessika then moved to Brisbane to study Fine Arts (Dance) at Queensland University. Jessika is currently teaching at different dance studios in Melbourne while studying Remedial Massage at The Australian College of Sports Therapy. In the future Jessika hopes to continue teaching, as she loves passing on knowledge to the up and coming dancers of this generation.

Phillipa Condous
Specialises in Dance Injury and Rehabilitation and has had much experience in this field both here and in New York where she worked with Riverdance on Broadway and with Mikhail Baryshnikov on the White Oak Dance Project. Phillipa assists students with Pointe Work Preparation, Injury rehabilitation, and help with core strength and alignment issues.
